  1. All of these quotes are so true and I often quote them too. Travel really makes you a better person and a better storyteller. I really love the Chinese proverb, “He who returns from a journey is not the same as he who left.” It is so damn true.

  2. Thanks for this, Jackie. I love travel quotes and this just made my day. Among all of these, I loved this one the most – “May you always have a shell in your pocket, and sand in your shoes.”

  3. So many inspiring words and all at one place. What a nicely curated list of travel quotes. Each one touches you in one way or the other. However, my favourite one is, “I was not born for one corner. The whole world is my native land.”—Seneca

  4. I have heard some of those quotes. To myself, I would say, traveling is reading. Sometimes traveling is more effective than reading many books.

    • I think what you say is so true, Mijia! Thanks for sharing that bit of wisdom — spoken from your experiences, no doubt!

  5. I love quotes about travel! I share a weekly quote on my FB as an inspiration to travel. This list gives me some good options to use in future weeks. Your list includes a good mix of more well-known quotes and ones I have not heard before.

  6. Love this post, I’m always looking for some great Inso quotes to add to the list! The Mark Twain’s one is my favorite, I even have part of it tattooed 🙂 Also, the “Little by little, one travels far” one is such a truth!

  7. Oh there are so many good quotes in this post that it is really hard to choose one! I think that “Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” is my absolute favorite. Traveling makes us realize that we are an important but a very small part in this world.

  8. Even though some of these quotes have become overused and cliche, others are really inspirational. Not only do they inspire to write more but they can also serve as inspiration for writing future articles. Definitely bookmarking this for future use, thank you for sharing

    • Wonderful. I’m glad you’ve found a useful resource and some inspiration as well, Daniel!

  9. I love all these quotes! I’ve seen lots of them but there are definitely some new ones in there. My favorite travel quote of all time is from Mark Twain, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”

    • Oh, isn’t that brilliant? I’ve not come across that one. Thanks for sharing it. (I wholeheartedly agree wtih Mark Twain.)

  10. I love these quotes, especially as there are a few there I’ve never read before The one from — Ibn Battuta “Traveling–it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” Looking forward to hearing from you more
