All of these quotes are so true and I often quote them too. Travel really makes you a better person and a better storyteller. I really love the Chinese proverb, “He who returns from a journey is not the same as he who left.” It is so damn true.

Thanks for this, Jackie. I love travel quotes and this just made my day. Among all of these, I loved this one the most – “May you always have a shell in your pocket, and sand in your shoes.”

I have heard some of those quotes. To myself, I would say, traveling is reading. Sometimes traveling is more effective than reading many books.

Oh there are so many good quotes in this post that it is really hard to choose one! I think that “Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” is my absolute favorite. Traveling makes us realize that we are an important but a very small part in this world.

I love all these quotes! I’ve seen lots of them but there are definitely some new ones in there. My favorite travel quote of all time is from Mark Twain, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
