So, a glass case is among the essential items that you need to pack when traveling.
It will protect your glasses from getting damaged. It’ll also keep them in pristine condition.

It’s a must-have travel item for protecting your sunglasses when traveling.
Because, let’s face it – the best sunglasses are not cheap! Keep them in good condition.
3. Health Essentials
While traveling is fun, it can also be stressful and tiring.
Therefore, you should pack some essential health items.
These include things like ibuprofen, vitamins, first aid kits, and plenty of watear to keep you healthy on your trips.
They could be vital for keeping you in good shape while traveling.
It can also come in handy just in case you get sick or injured on the road.
4. Travel Organizers
Travel organizers are great for keeping your belongings organized.
They come in various styles and sizes, so you can find one that works best for your needs.
If you’re going on a beach vacation, look for an organizer with plenty of pockets to store your beach essentials.
And if you’re traveling via plane, opt for one that won’t take up too much space.
Even on a day trip, you’ll want to keep your things easy to find.
You’ll be glad you did!
5. Skincare Essentials
It’s crucial to pack skincare essentials when traveling.
You never know what the weather will be like or what kind of pollution you might encounter while on the road.
If you have sensitive skin, bring plenty of moisturizer and sun protection, too.
Even if your skin isn’t sensitive, it’s still a good idea to pack a moisturizer. This way, your face doesn’t get too dry.
6. Gadgets
One good thing about traveling is disconnecting from work and other distractions.
This helps you focus on relaxing and enjoying yourself.
However, this doesn’t mean you must completely cut off all communication while away.
Instead, consider bringing along some gadgets, such as a smartphone or affordable tablet.
This way, you can check email or social media and stay in touch with friends and family while you’re away.
7. In-Flight Comforts
If you’re flying, bringing along some in-flight comforts.
For instance, packing headphones and an eye mask is always a good idea.
Headphones will help you block out any noise from people around you so that you can sleep more easily.
And, an eye mask allows your eyes to adjust to the darkness, so they don’t feel as tired when exposed to daylight again.
8. Various Travel Gear
Since you don’t know what to expect when traveling, bringing along some travel gear is a good idea.
That will help prepare you for any situation.
For example, say you plan on hiking in the mountains. Then it’s a good idea to bring some sturdy boots and waterproof clothing.
You can also bring an extra pair of socks, just in case your feet get wet.
If you camp or hike during the day, it’s a good idea to bring along a water bottle to stay hydrated, too.
9. Passport and Cardholders
Really, you can’t travel far without a passport and a credit card.
You’ll need these items whenever you’re traveling, so ensure they’re in a safe place where no one can get to them.
It’s also a good idea to invest in an RFID-blocking passport, vaccine, and credit card holder, like this one. I especially like this one because it even has a place for SIM cards.
That way, you don’t have to carry anything bulky. And you don’t have to worry about anyone electronically lifting your credit card info.
10. Hand Sanitizer Wipes
If you’re going to any destination, you don’t know what germs are floating around.

What a great compiled list of travel essentials. In-Flight Comforts are a must-have for those who travel frequently and take long flights. This is a valuable list and a great read.
Thanks for your kind words, Parnashree! In-flight comforts can certainly make a long-haul flight better. 🙂
Those are some amazing essentials to bring for a vacation. I can agree that knowing what to bring can save both space and energy. I remember on my first trip I carry a whole lot of items that exceed the limit. Good thing my father was there to carry the extra stuff or I would have lost them. I learned my lesson, and travel light, so now I always make space if I decide to buy something on the trip.
So glad your father was there to take the extra stuff! That would have been awful to have lost them…
Thank you for this list! Love that you included glass casing. I just broke my sunnies during my last trip and I realized that I did not have a good case.
I also agree with bringing health essentials, it’s a pain to look for medicines abroad if you have certain preferences.
Gah! Sorry about your glasses. 🙁
I have a comprehensive packing list that keeps getting updated. And as you suggested have ones for special purpose trips. Your list was a good one for me to check about missing things on my packing list. We have so many bags – each with a special purpose. But must admit we are always drawn to find a new one for our gadgets.
Having something for gadgets and cords has eliminated so much frustration for me while traveling. I hope it makes your packing list!
Now that I’ve started wearing prescription glasses, I pretty much have to carry it everywhere. Yes, sturdy yet stylish glass cases are definitely a must! Being in Belgium when sun is hardly out ever, I forget about sunglasses often! Haha. I have these waterproof pouches that I use as travel organizers. Very useful indeed. RFID blocking card holder is definitely a good idea.
The waterproof pouches sound like a great, dry way to organize things, Bhusha!
I’m so OCD about bringing hand wipes everywhere, and this was before Covid! They’re so helpful especially when traveling. I also always make sure to bring medicines as you just never know. Packing mini skincare essentials is a must for me, my routine doesn’t change when I’m on the move!
Lisa, It sounds like we are very similar in terms of planning what to bring! Glad you can relate.
i would add to that list, you 100% need to bring a refillable water bottle (no one needs to buy single-use plastic water bottles anymore. we also carry our SteriPen so we can purify water in any country. BOOM!
That’s a great addition to the list, Mike. Thanks!
Good round-up on travel items one might need. I feel, the more I travel, the more I figure out, what gadgets make my travels more comfortable. I always take noise cancelling earphones, but I do not need a sleeping mask or an inflatable pillow. Also I easily get irritated by sunglasses. And yes! Definitely sanitizer wipes!
Yes, it’s important to curate items that fit your personal preferences, and it sounds like you have done that! Personally, I couldn’t travel without my sleep mask – there’s too many little lites and under-door gaps in a hotel room that disturb my sleep!
