Enjoy Travel Life publishes contributed content from select partners whose work fits naturally alongside our own coverage of casual-luxury travel for empty nesters.

These guidelines outline what we expect from all contributed articles. We hold every piece to the same standard as our own work because our readers trust our recommendations.

What We Publish

We are currently accepting contributed content that speaks to one or more of the following:

• Travel destinations, with an emphasis on casual-luxury experiences
• Luxury travel insights and unique experiences
• Empty-nesting lifestyle and this exciting chapter of life
• Practical travel tips our readers can act on
• Food and drink as they relate to travel
• Cultural and historic points of interest, art, and museums

Our readers are typically aged 45 to 65, well-traveled, and looking for elevated experiences rather than extreme adventure. Content should reflect that sensibility.

Writing Standards

Voice and Format

Your article should be a minimum of 1,000 words written in guidebook style. That means second person (“you”), as though you’re speaking directly to the reader. Please avoid first-person references and don’t refer to the article itself (“in this guide,” “in this article”).

Keep the intro short, three to five sentences, and give the reader a clear sense of what they’ll learn or discover by reading on. Make the article skimmable with headings, short paragraphs, and occasional bold text where it helps.

Please use US English spelling and active voice throughout.

Listicles

If your article follows a list format (e.g., “7 Ways to…”), please use an odd number of items. If you’re close to a round number like 10, 25, or 50, round up. This makes the headline more clickable for our audience.

Content Focus

Think about what our readers value most:

• Scenic destinations, ocean views, nature walks, botanical gardens, scenic drives
• Luxury experiences and where-to-stay recommendations
• Food- and drink-focused attractions
• Practical details: how to get there, entrance fees, safety tips
• Where to stay for a casual-luxury experience
• Interesting tours, itineraries, and hidden gems

Originality

All submitted content must be original work that has not appeared and will not appear elsewhere. Duplicate content creates SEO problems for both of us.

Photography

Please include one to three high-quality photos with your submission: under 200KB, 1,000 pixels wide, landscape orientation preferred.

You must have authorization to use any photos you submit, whether through creative commons, royalty-free licensing, or your own copyright. Please include appropriate credit for any images you do not own.

We may make minor image edits for size or quality. If you prefer that we not use your photos for social media promotion, please let us know.

Your Byline

Please include a headshot (under 100KB) along with a one- to three-sentence bio and your website URL. This will appear at the end of your article upon publication.

Editorial Standards

As the editor of Enjoy Travel Life, we retain full editorial control over all published content. Contributors should expect that we will:

• Edit text for grammar, clarity, and tone
• Add or revise content where further explanation would benefit the reader
• Add a leading paragraph, table of contents, and closing paragraph in keeping with our editorial format
• Optimize the headline and content for SEO to help readers find the article
• Include internal links to other Enjoy Travel Life content and relevant authority links
• Include our editor bio as the content curator and travel authority
• Add downloadable resources and relevant affiliate links where appropriate
• Share the article on our social media channels
• Update the article in the future to keep information current
