Stay at The Closest Hotel to Gillette Stadium

Pack your bags and get ready to stay in Foxboro, Massachusetts!

You can look to a handful of Patriot Place hotels, but you can be sure you’ll have a great experience at The Renaissance Boston Patriot Place Hotel.

Not only is this hotel located a stone’s throw from the stadium, it’s the only Four Diamond Rated hotel in Foxboro.

So, let’s take a look at what it’s like to stay here.

I spent two nights enjoying a comfortable, convenient visit to Foxboro at The Renaissance. It included delicious meals and easy access to “Pats Place.” Now I’m sharing my takeaways from the experience in my hotel review, below.

About the Renaissance Hotel in Foxboro

The Renaissance Hotel is a 4-star, full-service hotel that is just .2 miles from Gillette Stadium

That’s where the New England Patriots, New England Revolution soccer team, and a host of concerts and other events take place.

In fact, you can opt for a Game Day Ticket Package when you book your stay. This generous package provides you with two lower level game tickets, elevated accommodations, breakfast for two, and parking for one vehicle. Learn more about this special booking deal here (Renaissance Hotel) and here (Hilton Garden Inn).*

You can even enjoy some stunning panoramic views of the stadium right from your hotel room. Of the 156 rooms on the Renaissance property, half of them are “Gillette Stadium View Rooms.” To take advantage of that option, just be sure you book your room in advance.

The elegant vibe and extra amenities of the Renaissance Hotel in Foxboro make it an ideal stay for anyone in the area.

But don’t take it from me.

The hotel ranks #30 among luxury hotels in Boston (U.S. News & World Report) and #48 for Best Massachusetts Hotels.

With thousands of hotels in Massachusetts from which to choose, these ratings speak for themselves.

And, if you’re a Marriott Rewards member, you’ll be happy to know when you stay at Renaissance Hotel, you will be eligible for points, perks, and complimentary nights at The Renaissance in accordance with Marriott’s program.

* Availability for the Game Day Ticket Package is limited and prices vary depending on game. Package valid for New England Patriots’ home games from September 2023 to January 2024.

Where is the Renaissance Hotel?

Renaissance Hotel Foxboro MA | Enjoy Travel Life
The Renaissance Hotel is the closest hotel to Gillette Stadium and the only Four Diamond Rated hotel in Foxboro.

You’ll find the Renaissance Hotel’s location convenient in many ways.

Not only is it about a 5-minute walk from Gillette Stadium and steps from Patriot Place, but it’s easy to access from Routes 1, 95, and 495.

The Renaissance Hotel is about 28 miles south of Boston, and 30 miles north of Providence. This makes it a convenient place to stay between both New England cities.

Likewise, local airports are nearby. Boston Logan Airport is a 30 minute drive, and TF Green Airport in Rhode Island is 32 miles away.

The Renaissance is adjacent to the stadium, and you can walk right over to the shopping, dining, and entertainment options at Patriot Place. That’s one of the things that’s so great about staying at the closest hotel to Gillette Stadium.

Plus, there’s plenty of parking at the hotel.

You can look forward to complimentary self-parking on non-game days. During Patriots’ home games and concert nights, the rate is commensurate with general stadium parking.

Don’t want to drive?

On game days and for a few concerts (only), you can take the MBTA’s Gillette Stadium Train (“The Patriot Train”) from Boston or Dedham. It brings you directly to Gillette Stadium. Tickets sell out quickly, so if you want to take this route, get tickets when they go on sale a week before the event.

And, right next door is Renaissance’s partner hotel, Hilton Garden Inn. This excellent 3-star hotel is a few hundred feet away and just as comfortable for overflow guests. HGI is almost as close to Gillette Stadium as the Renaissance, at .03 mi. While it’s not technically the closest hotel to Gillette Stadium – it’s close, so definitely check out the Hilton Garden Inn.

For instance, take a swim in the indoor heated saltwater pool, or simply lounge by the pool in the cabana or deck chairs. You can also take a dip in the wading pool. When you’re done, grab a complimentary towel, conveniently located at the pool.

Or, head over to the fitness center, set up with state-of-the-art cardio machines (with personal TVs) and weight equipment. It overlooks the pool.

Both facilities are secure, requiring your room key for access.

And, if you have a hankering for a snack or refreshment, you’ll find a small but well-stocked snack/convenience store with snacks, beverages, convenience items, and even an ATM beside reception.

If you want a change of scenery or to work in a quiet but more social area, head over to the side lobby.

There, you’ll find tables, chairs, and couches arranged to feel like a cozy coffee house. And that’s good, because there’s a self-serve coffee bar in the lobby as well!

You don’t even have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy this bright space with floor-to-ceiling windows. You’ll have Wi-Fi access here, and you’ll have a view to the stadium.

That’s just one perk of being the closest hotel to Gillette Stadium!

Dining Experiences at Renaissance Hotel

The best hotels have on-site dining, and the Renaissance Hotel is no exception. It’s just one of the many places you can dine when you’re in Patriot Place. You’ll find this restaurant provides a great experience.

Twenty8 Food & Spirits – On Site Dining

Twenty8 Food & Spirit is a great option to enjoy a sit-down breakfast, dinner, or drink at the bar.

From the creative culinary offerings to the friendly waitstaff, it’s a convenient, casual option for upscale dining right in the hotel. (You can always order room service, too.)

Breakfast at Twenty8 Restaurant

The breakfast menu offers choices from light and healthy fare to hearty starters.

My favorite pick on the menu is a selection of multi-grain Toasts with creative toppings, like the Prosciutto, fig spread, and goat cheese. This dish includes two eggs, any style (I chose poached), and a green salad topped with pickled red onions and lemon vinaigrette.

Combined with a delicious fresh-brewed coffee, this dish makes a great start to the day.

In fact, it was so satisfying, I ordered the same breakfast two days in a row!

Dinner at Twenty8 was excellent, too.

My dinner guest and I started our dinner with cocktails and Baked Ricotta with black peppercorn, local honey and herbed crostini.

Then, we shared a Roasted Beet Salad topped with arugula, goat cheese, candied walnuts, dried cranberries, and honey-soy vinaigrette.

For the main dishes, we dined on:

  • Seared Atlantic Salmon with Coconut And Cauliflower “Risotto,” Yuzu Soy Reduction, Baby Bok Choy
  • Creekstone Farms Prime Club Steak with Truffle Crispy Fries, Arugula And Charred Onion Salad, Roasted-Garlic Tallow Butter. (My friend substituted the truffle fries for GF potatoes.)

Our meal and dining experience was truly outstanding!

In addition to the delicious meal, our server went out of her way to accommodate our special dining requests for gluten free options, when possible.

The next evening, I tried the Venison Bolognese that I had my eye on the night before. This gnocchi, pancetta, shaved Parmesan Corto, and extra virgin olive oil dish was worth the wait.

I splurged a bit, too, wrapping up my meal with the Roasted Apple Cobbler dessert. Made with Madagascar vanilla gelato and house-made cranberry granola, this treat was served in charming Mason jar!

Clearly, Twenty8 is a restaurant worth visiting, whether or not you’re staying at the Renaissance Hotel.
