What is Mattโ€™s Flights?

Mattโ€™s Flights is a weekly flight deal newsletter delivered to your inbox that alerts you to the best flights from your hometown airport or region.

How it Works

It’s pretty straightforward.

  1. Sign up with your email address and select your departure zone.
Note: If you donโ€™t see your region listed, email Matt and heโ€™ll add it!
  2. Watch your inbox for cheap flight deals that appeal to you.
  3. Take trips at a fraction of the normal costโ€”as much as a 90% savings, according to Matt’s website.

Matt is an actual person scouring the internet with his team looking for the best online airfare deals. They operate out of Delray Beach, Florida and look non-stop for cheap flight deals and airline mistakes so they can bring ridiculously low fares into your inbox.

Change Your Airport

Are you a perpetual traveler? A winter “snowbird”?

No problem.

If you want to change your home airport, it’s easy enough to change your settings anytime.

Custom Search for Cheap Fares

What if you are planning to take a certain trip and need some help to find flight deals?

With Mattโ€™s Flights Premium, you can reach right out to Matt and he will search for you based on your personal airport and flight request.

Compare Paid vs. FREE Subscription to Matt’s Flight

There are two subscription versions of Matt’s Flights: Free and Premium. Both list the round-trip discounted fare prices departing from your local airports to featured destinations.

But hereโ€™s the difference between the two subscription options.

FREE Subscription

The free version provides great deals that arrive in your inbox once a week.

Premium Subscription

With the Premium subscription, in addition to that you get:

  • Direct 1-on-1 Flight Planning Support for your exact itinerary. This means access to Matt via email to request unlimited personal custom searches. (I’m always looking for a cheap fare to Los Angeles to visit my daughter.)
  • Access to exclusive deals and round-trip ticket giveaways. Mattโ€™s Flights has given away over 1,000 free round-trip tickets to subscribers through their giveaways. Youโ€™ll find the premium giveaways offered a few times per month here.
  • Additional notifications when super deals come along.
  • Alerts about Mistake Faresโ€”low flight deals posted in error by an airline or online travel agency

Matt’s Flights Premium costs $59.99 per year, which I think is very reasonable considering the money you’ll save in booking airplane tickets.

And, if youโ€™re on the fence about whether to get the free or the Premium version, thereโ€™s a middle ground: the 14-Day Free Trial of Premium.

Get A Free Trial for Matts Flights

Sign up for a 14 day Free Trial of Mattโ€™s Premium service, and if you like it, you have the option to subscribe to the Premium subscription for $59.99. If not, you’ll continue on the free subscription plan going forward.

Of course, you can cancel at any time.

What to Expect: Very Cheap Air Tickets!

Every week, sometimes several times a week, you get an email in your inbox with the latest bargains for your region. The average flight savings is well over $500+!

You will only receive e-mails when the flight deals Matt finds are too good not to share them with you. As a free member, expect four (4) emails per month listing low-cost flights. Premium members can expect around 12-15 deals per month.

Discount Airline Tickets – Sample Fares

Here is a sample of some amazing round-trip, non-stop flight deals Mattโ€™s Flights notified me about in the last few weeks:

  • Boston to Miami: $77
  • New York to Paris: $284
  • Boston to Barcelona: $208
Arc de Triumph
Some international flights on Matt’s Flights are priced lower than regular domestic flights.

You read that right.

New York to Paris: $284

Round-trip.

Non-stop.

I have to say, isnโ€™t it crazy that these international flights are cheaper than many standard domestic fares?

Every week I get a variety of amazing deals, up to 90% savings on flight prices.

Discounted Fares for Top Airlines

You’ll be happy to know most of these discounted fares arenโ€™t on budget airlines, either.

(Good thing, because Iโ€™ve gotten a little spoiled at this point in my life. I am a Delta Airlines kinda girl.)

Weโ€™re talking Delta, American, Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air France. While you may see some budget airlines included, rest assured the newsletter includes some of the best airlines.

My Conclusion / Insights

Having Mattโ€™s Flights delivered into my email every week reveals that the cost of airfare has come a long way, baby.

I’m old enough to remember when transcontinental and international flights cost several hundred, even thousands of dollars; now itโ€™s crazy cheap if you know where to find low cost flights.

More importantly, Matt’s Flights quickly eliminated the limiting belief I had that faraway places were out of my reach due to airfare costs. I am inspired to be more ambitious in my travel dreamsโ€”because I can!

As a subscriber to Mattโ€™s Flights, I now know affordable flights exist without the need to sacrifice with a lousy airline, multiple layovers, limited legroom, and baggage fees.

And, I am reminded that I ALWAYS need to have a few hundred extra dollars on hand for when those amazing flight that comes up.

  1. Thanks for the great resources on this one. We’re constantly searching for true and genuine discount sites to find the best possible flights out of New York!

  2. This is great information! I get the emails from Matt’s Flights and “dream” about where to travel. It’s good to know about if I can’t book flights with points.

  3. I was using Scotts Cheap Flights but then he stopped providing “cheap” flights originating in Canada, so I am definitely on the look out for another source. Thanks for the recommendation!

  4. I have never heard of this service until now. This is such a valuable resource! We will be looking for a great deal from Tampa to NYC, but we’re waiting for the NFL schedule to come out because we want to watch a game in New Jersey stadium.

    • Happy to introduce you to this resource, Cynthia. I hope you get a great deal to the game!

  5. What a great resource Jackie. Now I’m wondering if something like Matt’s exists in Oceania, hmm might be worth some research. I hope you end up booking the Hawaii trip, what a dream! As I live in Australia, cheap flights to anywhere else in the world are few and far between, so I’d pretty much jump on any opportunity that came up. However, just because it’s on pretty much the opposite side of the planet from me, I’d choose a cheap flight to somewhere like Iceland ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks for the kind words, Freya! Keep an eye on Matt’s Flights…I have a feeling it might expand beyond North America in the future. (My fingers are crossed for you!)

  6. Wow, I hadn’t heard of some of these resources before. Thanks for putting together such an extensive post. I always use Skyscanner to research and book my flights. But now I might try one of the tools you mention in this post.
