Raise your hand if you love finding low cost flights to amazing destinations.

Did you know there’s a super-easy way to find affordable flights around the world; delivered right to your inbox, even?

Matt’s Flights alerts you to amazing fare deals to dream destinations.

Matt’s Flights is an email newsletter that publishes discount airline tickets, cheap last-minute flights, and not-to-miss low cost flights each week. It’s put together by Matt Guidice and his team.

Matt asked me to try out his premium newsletter and let him know my thoughts. Read on for my detailed review of Matt’s Flights.

How to Find Cheap Airline Flights Online

Method 1:

You can comb the internet to find cheap flights and the best flight deals. Here’s a list of Best Online Resources to Find Cheap Flights if you want to shop around yourself.

Method 2:

Save yourself some time, effort, and money by letting Matt’s Flights do it for you. After trying out a Free Trial of Matt’s Flights, you might find it’s the only resource you need for flight deals.

What is Matt’s Flights?

Matt’s Flights is a weekly flight deal newsletter delivered to your inbox that alerts you to the best flights from your hometown airport or region.

How it Works

It’s pretty straightforward.

  1. Sign up with your email address and select your departure zone.
Note: If you don’t see your region listed, email Matt and he’ll add it!
  2. Watch your inbox for cheap flight deals that appeal to you.
  3. Take trips at a fraction of the normal cost—as much as a 90% savings, according to Matt’s website.

Matt is an actual person scouring the internet with his team looking for the best online airfare deals. They operate out of Delray Beach, Florida and look non-stop for cheap flight deals and airline mistakes so they can bring ridiculously low fares into your inbox.

Change Your Airport

Are you a perpetual traveler? A winter “snowbird”?

No problem.

If you want to change your home airport, it’s easy enough to change your settings anytime.

Custom Search for Cheap Fares

What if you are planning to take a certain trip and need some help to find flight deals?

With Matt’s Flights Premium, you can reach right out to Matt and he will search for you based on your personal airport and flight request.

Compare Paid vs. FREE Subscription to Matt’s Flight

There are two subscription versions of Matt’s Flights: Free and Premium. Both list the round-trip discounted fare prices departing from your local airports to featured destinations.

But here’s the difference between the two subscription options.

FREE Subscription

The free version provides great deals that arrive in your inbox once a week.

Premium Subscription

With the Premium subscription, in addition to that you get:

  • Direct 1-on-1 Flight Planning Support for your exact itinerary. This means access to Matt via email to request unlimited personal custom searches. (I’m always looking for a cheap fare to Los Angeles to visit my daughter.)
  • Access to exclusive deals and round-trip ticket giveaways. Matt’s Flights has given away over 1,000 free round-trip tickets to subscribers through their giveaways. You’ll find the premium giveaways offered a few times per month here.
  • Additional notifications when super deals come along.
  • Alerts about Mistake Fares—low flight deals posted in error by an airline or online travel agency

Matt’s Flights Premium costs $59.99 per year, which I think is very reasonable considering the money you’ll save in booking airplane tickets.

And, if you’re on the fence about whether to get the free or the Premium version, there’s a middle ground: the 14-Day Free Trial of Premium.

Get A Free Trial for Matts Flights

Sign up for a 14 day Free Trial of Matt’s Premium service, and if you like it, you have the option to subscribe to the Premium subscription for $59.99. If not, you’ll continue on the free subscription plan going forward.

Of course, you can cancel at any time.

What’s In Matt’s Flights | Newsletter Content

Matt’s Flights primarily concentrates on deals departing from the United States and Canada, both domestic and international.

I signed up for Northeast to find affordable flights near me. I get a cheap flight alert for a destination sorted from lowest to highest fare from these well-within-reach locations.

Airports in the Northeastern United States

  • Boston (BOS)
  • New York (JFK)
  • New York (LGA)
  • New Jersey (EWR)
  • Buffalo (BUF)
  • Syracuse (SYR)
  • Pittsburgh (PIT)
  • Washington DC (IAD)
  • Baltimore (BWI)
  • Washington DC (DCA)
  • Norfolk (ORF)
I signed up for the Northeast departures to get alerted to rock-bottom flights out of Boston and vicinity.

Each Matt’s Flights email includes:

  • a featured Destination
  • the low cost fares associated with your airports
  • a Purchase by date
  • the Airline(s) included in the fare listing
  • dates on When to Visit
  • Top-rated Activities

What to Expect: Very Cheap Air Tickets!

Every week, sometimes several times a week, you get an email in your inbox with the latest bargains for your region. The average flight savings is well over $500+!

You will only receive e-mails when the flight deals Matt finds are too good not to share them with you. As a free member, expect four (4) emails per month listing low-cost flights. Premium members can expect around 12-15 deals per month.

Discount Airline Tickets – Sample Fares

Here is a sample of some amazing round-trip, non-stop flight deals Matt’s Flights notified me about in the last few weeks:

  • Boston to Miami: $77
  • New York to Paris: $284
  • Boston to Barcelona: $208
Some international flights on Matt’s Flights are priced lower than regular domestic flights.

You read that right.

New York to Paris: $284

Round-trip.

Non-stop.

I have to say, isn’t it crazy that these international flights are cheaper than many standard domestic fares?

Every week I get a variety of amazing deals, up to 90% savings on flight prices.

Discounted Fares for Top Airlines

You’ll be happy to know most of these discounted fares aren’t on budget airlines, either.

(Good thing, because I’ve gotten a little spoiled at this point in my life. I am a Delta Airlines kinda girl.)

We’re talking Delta, American, Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air France. While you may see some budget airlines included, rest assured the newsletter includes some of the best airlines.

Get over to Google Flights and book it using the information Matt provides as soon as possible. While Matt’s Flights estimates how long the flight deal will last, it is not guaranteed.

WARNING: Receiving emails from Matts Flights will make you want to hop on a plane. Be sure to put some money aside so you’re ready to enjoy these great opportunities!

With all the time wasted searching for cheap fares… you could already be on the beach…!

How to Sign Up for Matts Flights

Go to mattsflights.com and enter your email to try a free trial for yourself. Seeing is believing.

if you love to travel as I do, you’ll find the $59.99 for the Premium subscription is money well-spent.

My Conclusion / Insights

Having Matt’s Flights delivered into my email every week reveals that the cost of airfare has come a long way, baby.

I’m old enough to remember when transcontinental and international flights cost several hundred, even thousands of dollars; now it’s crazy cheap if you know where to find low cost flights.

More importantly, Matt’s Flights quickly eliminated the limiting belief I had that faraway places were out of my reach due to airfare costs. I am inspired to be more ambitious in my travel dreams—because I can!

As a subscriber to Matt’s Flights, I now know affordable flights exist without the need to sacrifice with a lousy airline, multiple layovers, limited legroom, and baggage fees.

And, I am reminded that I ALWAYS need to have a few hundred extra dollars on hand for when those amazing flight that comes up.

Like this one: New York to Honolulu: $538

Hawaii is a tough one to pass up…

I’ve just about packed my bags and am one click away from booking it! (Thanks, Matt!)

These Low-cost fares to beautiful Honolulu are so tempting! #bucketlist

How about you?

What destination(s) would be hard for you to pass up if an amazing flight deal came along?

This is great information! I get the emails from Matt’s Flights and “dream” about where to travel. It’s good to know about if I can’t book flights with points.

I was using Scotts Cheap Flights but then he stopped providing “cheap” flights originating in Canada, so I am definitely on the look out for another source. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have never heard of this service until now. This is such a valuable resource! We will be looking for a great deal from Tampa to NYC, but we’re waiting for the NFL schedule to come out because we want to watch a game in New Jersey stadium.

What a great resource Jackie. Now I’m wondering if something like Matt’s exists in Oceania, hmm might be worth some research. I hope you end up booking the Hawaii trip, what a dream! As I live in Australia, cheap flights to anywhere else in the world are few and far between, so I’d pretty much jump on any opportunity that came up. However, just because it’s on pretty much the opposite side of the planet from me, I’d choose a cheap flight to somewhere like Iceland 🙂

Wow, I hadn’t heard of some of these resources before. Thanks for putting together such an extensive post. I always use Skyscanner to research and book my flights. But now I might try one of the tools you mention in this post.

This is interesting. I’ve never seen a service like this before for cheap flights. I like to find my own flights and have a few tricks and tips of my own, but it wouldn’t hurt to get some help from an expert as well 🙂

It’s very helpful, even for giving you an idea of how low the flights actually go! I’m not as great at finding the cheap flights myself, so it’s been a very useful service for me.

This is so useful! I’ve never heard of them before and though we like to travel overland as much as we can we do end up flying quite a lot and have done quite a few long haul trips last year. So this will be so useful in the future!

I’ve never heard of Matt’s Flights and it sure seems like paying for the premium would be the way to go as it sounds like he has it dialed in and searching for flights is a mind-drain. Thanks for sharing, I will check it out!

He totally has it dialed in. I find it very affordable, too. You really couldn’t pay someone so little to do the searching for you–even just the one time. Absolutely worth it.

I must admit that we are chasing airline status. So we don’t always look for cheaper alternatives. I have never heard of Matt’s Flights. But it sounds like a great way to find good deals. Might even find some good deals in very expensive Canada!

I’m a fan of airline status myself, but in my experience, sometimes these deals are just too good to pass by…especially in very expensive Canada. 😀

I never heard of Matt’s flights but after reading this, I am signing up for the free trail. Now I got two young daughters, finding hours to find the best airline deals is now becoming time consuming so its good that there is someone out there who could do the job for you (and if I needed flights all the time, I think I would pay the extra as well). Thanks for bringing Matt’s Flights up.
