Best Quick Gourmet at The Brown Jug in Sandwich

Casual Dining, Specialty Groceries, and More

The Brown Jug in Sandwich is a gourmet grocer in the historic district of Sandwich Village, Massachusetts. You’ll find it nestled among a handful of unique boutiques and antique shops, charming restaurants, and historic inns of this “Upper Cape” Cod town founded by the pilgrims.

It is not a big place, but it’s jam-packed with goodness. It is home to specialty foods, teas, oils, sweets, curated cheeses, and a full selection of wines. They’ve recently expanded to include casual dining, pop-up wine tasting events, and entertainment. As someone who has watched The Brown Jug evolve for many years, it keeps getting better!

This is my go-to stop for a strong cup of coffee, morning pastry, and The Cape Cod Times. On occasion, I’ve even stumbled upon jazzy breakfast entertainment. (Acoustic music is a sure-fire way to ease you into a Cape Cod state of mind!)

More Than a Breakfast Stop

The Brown Jug is not only a breakfast stop. I often pick up a gourmet sandwich and chips to go when I head for a relaxing afternoon at East Sandwich Beach with a good beach read.

It’s got a warm, casual interior, a garden bar, gourmet food, and friendly staff. I love stopping into The Brown Jug in Sandwich at any time of year. That’s the good news: it’s open year round!
